This art piece references Houston’s connection with the Space industry. Not only was “Houston” the 1st word spoken on the moon, but the City has the World’s 1st Space Port, and I can only imagine that Houston will continue to be a leader in the space exploration endeavors that reach into the beyond of our universe. The central image is an interpretation of a “Space City” illustrated with a Gonzofied Houston skyline traveling space station that’s filled with people living and working. In the foreground, you see a shuttle preparing to dock. This is a nod to the Port of Houston, which connects Houston to the world. In the painted version, the docks would connect Houston to the Galaxy.
